    How it runs

    1. 01

      Scope the role

We define the mandate, deliverables, reporting line and duration with you, and match an engineer with the right standard and OEM background.

    2. 02

      Embed

The engineer works on-site as part of your team — owning the agreed scope, from daily quality decisions to customer-facing meetings.

    3. 03

      Deliver & transfer

They drive the projects and, throughout, document the work and mentor your staff so capability stays with you when the engagement ends.

    Typical use cases

    • A headcount freeze or hiring gap leaves a quality role unfilled.
    • Maternity, sick or notice-period cover is needed on short notice.
    • A launch or escalation needs a dedicated owner your team cannot spare.
    • A customer wants a named on-site quality contact during a sensitive phase.
    • You want senior quality capability without a permanent salary line.

    Frequently asked questions

How is resident engineering different from hiring?

You get an experienced quality engineer on-site for a defined period without a permanent salary line, recruitment lead time or notice-period risk. The engineer is part of your team day to day, but the engagement scales up or down with the work.

    How long are engagements?

Typically a few months to around a year, with flexible contracts. They can be full-time on-site, part-time, or a hybrid of on-site presence for critical phases and remote support for monitoring.

What experience do the engineers have?

They are practitioners with automotive plant-floor quality experience and working knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA 6.3 and the Core Tools — not generalist contractors. We match the profile to your standard and customer base.

Will knowledge stay with us afterwards?

Yes — knowledge transfer is built in. The engineer documents the work and mentors your staff throughout, so your team keeps the capability when the engagement ends.
