    How it runs

    1. 01

      Define the portfolio

The supplier base, KPIs, escalation rules and reporting cadence are agreed so the outsourced SQE works to your standard.

    2. 02

      Manage the base

Scorecards, claims and 8D, PPAP reviews and supplier visits are run on your behalf — under your customer-specific requirements.

    3. 03

      Report & escalate

Regular, confidential reporting keeps you in control, with clear escalation when a supplier needs containment or development.

    Typical use cases

    • You have more suppliers than in-house SQE capacity to manage.
    • A surge of claims or new nominations exceeds what your team can absorb.
    • You need supplier audits and visits done without pulling staff off other work.
    • A temporary gap leaves your supplier base unmanaged.
    • You want senior SQE judgement without a permanent salary line.

    Frequently asked questions

How is this different from resident engineering?

Resident engineering embeds an engineer inside your plant for on-site work. Outsourced SQE manages your supplier base — much of it off-site and across multiple suppliers — covering scorecards, claims, PPAP and audits. They complement each other and can run together.

Will our customer-specific requirements be respected?

Yes. The outsourced SQE works to your customer-specific requirements (CSRs) and your internal standards, so suppliers experience one consistent set of expectations regardless of who manages them.

    How is confidentiality handled?

Under NDA. The SQE represents your organization to your suppliers, and supplier data, pricing and commercial information are handled confidentially and kept within your reporting.

Can you scale up for a claim surge and back down after?

Yes — that flexibility is the point. Capacity scales with the workload, so a surge of claims or new nominations is covered without you carrying permanent headcount once it passes.
