    How it runs

    1. 01

      Mobilize

A containment plan is produced within 24 hours of engagement and screeners are deployed — on-site at your plant, at the customer, or at a third location — anywhere in the world.

    2. 02

      Define the criteria

Defect definitions, boundary samples and an inspection instruction are agreed with the customer so every part is judged against the same standard.

    3. 03

      100% screen

Visual, dimensional and functional screening of suspect stock with clear OK / NOK segregation, quarantine of rejects and full traceability.

    4. 04

      NOK flow & reporting

Rejects are routed to rework or scrap, daily ppm and quantities are reported in the customer’s format, and 8D root-cause work runs in parallel.

    5. 05

      Facilitate exit

Exit-criteria evidence is assembled and presented so controlled shipping can be lifted — and the permanent corrective action is verified to keep it lifted.

    Typical use cases

    • Your customer has issued a CSL1 or CSL2 (controlled shipping) notice.
    • A defect has escaped to the customer line and a 24–48h containment plan is demanded.
    • Repeat escapes have triggered a quality wall / firewall requirement.
    • A new or redesigned part needs GP-12 early-production containment.
    • Your internal team is stretched and cannot staff 100% screening on top of production.
    Exit criteria

Competitors stop at the screening. We define — and prove — the criteria that end the engagement, so it has a defensible finish line.

    • A defined number of consecutive clean shipments (typically agreed with the customer SQ team).
    • A closed 8D with verified root cause and effective permanent corrective action.
    • Updated control plan / PFMEA reflecting the corrective action.
    • Customer SQ sign-off on the exit package and removal of the CSL status.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between CSL1, CSL2 and a quality wall?

CSL1 (Controlled Shipping Level 1) is 100% inspection you run with your own resources under a documented redundant process. CSL2 adds an independent third party who verifies that containment on the customer’s behalf — usually after CSL1 fails to stop escapes, and the supplier pays. A quality wall (or firewall) is dedicated screening positioned close to or at the customer to guarantee zero escapes while the root cause is closed.

    How fast can you mobilize?

A containment plan is produced within 24 hours of engagement, and screening capacity is deployed rapidly worldwide. The exact on-site timing depends on location and headcount required — we confirm it when we scope the containment with you.

How do we get off controlled shipping?

Through documented exit criteria: a defined run of clean shipments, a closed 8D with verified permanent corrective action, an updated control plan and PFMEA, and customer SQ sign-off. We assemble and present that exit package so the CSL status is lifted as early as the evidence allows.

Do you report in our customer’s format?

Yes. Daily quantities, ppm and disposition are reported in the OEM or customer-specific format so the data drops straight into their supplier-quality system without rework.

Can you contain at the customer site, not just ours?

Yes. Screening can run at your plant, at the customer’s receiving or line side, or at a neutral third location — whichever stops escapes fastest.
